New VQ General Manager Announced

Volleyball Queensland (VQ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary O’Donnell as the new General Manager of  VQ.

VQ President, Boris Georgieff said Gary’s appointment will commence on Thursday 24 October and include a short hand over period with the current General Manager, Jon Gibbs.

“After a comprehensive recruitment process, the VQ Board is pleased to secure Gary O’Donnell for this important role. With over 30 years’ management experience in the sport industry, at both a state and national level, Gary comes to VQ with proven skills at both strategic and operational levels.”

Gary has extensive experience in sports and events management. Most recently, this has included the positions of General Manager of the Australian Masters Games and Australian University Games and prior to this as Chief Executive of Squash Australia. He is no stranger to Volleyball or the organisation having played, coached and administered the sport in Queensland, NSW and with Volleyball Australia. Gary holds a Graduate Certificate of Business (Sport Management) from Deakin University and Level Three Volleyball Coaching Accreditation.
