Volleyball Queensland is thrilled to welcome Gillian (Gill) O’Mara as our new Chief Executive Officer, starting 8 September 2025.
With over 20 years of leadership experience in sport administration, membership organisations, and strategic partnerships, Gill brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. As we move towards the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Gill’s leadership will be key in driving growth and innovation for Volleyball Queensland.
A passionate advocate for the power of sport to build community, Gill has a proven track record of success. She previously served as the CEO of Swimming Victoria, where she led initiatives that grew participation and achieved performance excellence. A lifelong athlete, her commitment to sport is both personal and professional.
Gill is eager to work alongside the Volleyball Queensland community to continue building on our strong foundations and chart a bold path forward. Her values-driven, people-first approach to leadership aligns perfectly with our mission to grow volleyball across Queensland.
We are excited for the future and look forward to the many opportunities Gill’s leadership will bring to the sport of volleyball in Queensland.
