Impressive volleyball skills were displayed at the recent senior round of the “World of Sport” Super 5 Volleyball competition on the Sunshine Coast with heavy hitters Craigslea State High School edging out to a slim lead over strong contenders Caloundra State High School and Burnside State High School.
In its 13th year and a popular lead-up event for Volleyball Queensland’s Schools Cup tournaments, Super 5 Volleyball attracts increasing interest from high schools across Queensland. A total of 30 teams participated this year with the following schools claiming divisional victories:
- Year 10 Girls – Shailer Park SHS
- Year 10 Boys – Shailer Park SHS
- Year 11 Girls – Burnside SHS
- Year 11 Boys – Aldridge SHS
- Year 12 Girls – Craigslea SHS
- Year 12 Boys – Craigslea SHS
Tournament organiser Roy Bruynius says, “following the exciting senior matches, it will now be up to the younger teams competing in the junior round of the “World of Sport” Super 5 Volleyball to determine who will take out the 2018 title”.
