Annual Awards
Each year, Volleyball Queensland gathers with affiliates and members of the volleyball community to celebrate the achievements, growth, and dedication that make our sport thrive. This special evening is a tribute to our youth, junior and senior representative athletes, as well as the outstanding contributions of our coaches, referees, and volunteers in both indoor and beach volleyball.

Volleyball Queensland’s Golden Jubilee
Volleyball was first played in Queensland at Dutton Park State High School in 1969, the same year that QVA Inc. was officially established on July 14. Since then, both volleyball and beach volleyball have experienced remarkable growth across the state, with 2019 marking the 50th anniversary of Volleyball Queensland.
To celebrate this major milestone, Volleyball Queensland hosted a Golden Jubilee Gala Dinner, reuniting the volleyball community and honoring standout players from each decade, the team of the half-century, as well as our dedicated coaches and referees. The event also celebrated the significant growth of beach volleyball in Queensland over the past 32 years since its introduction in 1987.
