SSC Wrap Up

Another successful Senior Schools Cup (SSC) was held on the Gold Coast over the weekend.

This year, SSC welcomed 87 schools with over 1,600 athletes who competed across 17 divisions at three venues.

Damien Searle, VQ’s Events Manager, was appreciative of the participating schools. “It was a challenging event due to the number of entries and some last minute changes but we were thrilled with the outcome and thank our school community for their patience and continued support”. Damien also welcomed the participation from five new schools at SSC saying, “we are excited to see our sport continually grow, particularly at this grassroots level, and hope to see our five new schools return for future VQ events”.

Volleyball Queensland would like to congratulate all athletes and staff who participated in this year’s SSC. Congratulations to Mansfield SHS on being named Aggregate Champions for 2018, beating Craigslea SHS by one point. Craigslea SHS were named Honours Champions for 2018.
