VQ General Manager Resigns

Volleyball Queensland’s General Manager, Jon Gibbs, has advised his intention to resign effective 21 October 2019.  Jon during his 11 year tenure has overseen dramatic change in VQ, including significant growth of membership and participation numbers across all major events.  Queensland’s dominance at Australian Junior Volleyball Championships, Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships and Australian Volleyball League is a testament to Jon’s tireless efforts on behalf of VQ.  Most recently Jon oversaw the VQ 50th anniversary Golden Jubilee dinner and negotiated the hosting of Australia’s FIVB Volleyball Nations League round in Brisbane.

The volleyball community is immensely grateful for Jon’s dedication and diligence during his tenure and he leaves the organisation knowing he has made a lasting difference to Queensland Volleyball.  Jon has delivered financial stability and a comprehensive calendar of events with the assistance our organisation’s staff and volunteers.  The Board thanks Jon for his service and wishes him and his family well for the future and in his next career challenge.

The Board will be commencing recruitment for the General Manager position immediately.
