Staff Changes at VQ

This month Volleyball Queensland will experience a couple of staffing changes. After four years, at the end of this month, our Administration Officer, Tori, is leaving VQ for the excitement of London. Todd, who has filled in as Events Coordinator during Damien Searle’s secondment to GOLDOC for the Commonwealth Games, is also leaving the VQ office to pursue new career opportunities.

ISC Wrap Up

Intermediate Schools Cup (ISC) was held in Toowoomba over the weekend. This year, ISC welcomed 64 schools with approximately 1,300 athletes who competed across 15 divisions at seven venues.

AJBVC in Bunbury, Western Australia

The 2018 Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Championships were held during April in Bunbury, Western Australia, where the Queensland teams continued Volleyball Queensland’s legacy, claiming the Andy Burdin Shield for the sixth consecutive year.

2018 Commonwealth Games

As beach volleyball made its debut at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Volleyball Queensland’s members, staff, and affiliates were keen to experience the action on home soil.

Regional Development Camps

In March this year, Volleyball Queensland held its first Regional Development Camp. Travelling to Proserpine, this camp focused on developing the skills of officials and athletes alike, hosting an officiating course and a Junior Pirates Camp.
